Lymphoedema Support Clinics

Staff/Volunteer Flu Vaccinations  

 No appointment required for the flu vaccination. You cannot have the vaccination if you are currently suffering from the flu.

For all vaccinations volunteers can attend the Respiratory Medicine Department, Ground Floor, Block C, Wollongong Hospital between 8.30 am and 4.30 pm Mondays to Fridays.

Please Note:  Mandatory Vaccinations for all Cancer Carers working with patients in the Cancer Care Centre; Ward C7 or Drive patients.

Diphtheria; Tetanus; Pertussis; Hepatitis B; Measles; Mumps; Rubella; Chicken Pox; TB Screening:

March Open Meeting 

All Open Meetings to be held at 10 am; Figgy Bowlo,  120 The Avenue, Figtree (plenty of parking available).  Doors open at 10 am.

Mandatory Training for all Volunteers 

All volunteers are asked to attend an annual training session at the local hospital or service site.  Sessions will run for approximately three hours and will cover the following:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Fire Safety & Evacuation
  • Infection Control
  • Security
  • Work, Health & Safety

Dates and times will be announced in due time.

Membership Fees

Membership fees were due on 1 July 2016.
The fee is $25 which covers you for 3 years from
1 July 2016 to 30 June 2019.  Please send your money to:

Christmas Wrapping

A big Thank You to the Carers and friends who helped to make our Christmas Wrapping such a success both socially and financially.

Hospital

 

Second Wednesday of each second month.   Hospital Market Stall dates for 2018:

Level 2 – Reception, Cancer Care Centre Hospital – Loftus Street Entrance

Goods for hospital stall should be dropped at the Cancer Care Centre by the Tuesday prior to the Market Stall at the latest.

Anyone with items for our Market Stalls ring

Cancer Care Centre at least the day prior to the Stall.
Any  Cooking for the stall please bring to Level 2, Cancer Care Centre on the morning of the stall

To Prevent Passing on the Flu

  • Cover your face to cough or sneeze
  • Throw away used tissues right away
  • Clean your hands thoroughly and often
  • Stay home until you are well

Shingles Injection 

Please be aware that if you have had the shingles injection you will not be able to come into the Cancer Care Centre/Oncology Ward or drive patients for at least two weeks afterwards.
